Everything is flowing along nicely for the 2016 ILLW event. A team of 5 hams from AHARS will be operational at Cape Willoughby as from Friday 19th-Monday 22nd August 2016.
We are back on the mainland after 3 very enjoyable nights at Cape Willoughby. Only an estimation, as we are yet to put all the logs together, but about 500 QSO's were made on SSB, CW, & PSK31. Weather conditions were extreme at times with winds gusting up to 140 kph, rain, hail, lightning, and many roads flooded. Looking forward to next year. At last night's Adelaide Hills Amateur Radio Society (AHARS) Committee meeting, it was agreed that we would purchase 5 filters for 80m, 40m, 20m, 15m, & 10m.
On Wednesday 3rd July, we all got together at the Belair Hotel at Blackwood for an evening meal and a few beers. We then retired the Adelaide Hills Amateur Radio Society 'Shack' at Blackwood and discussed logistics re the upcoming trip. |
